William Robert Charles ANDERSON, son of John ANDERSON (c. 1864- ) and Esther SAGE (c. 1866- ), was born on 5 November 1895 in North Lopham, Norfolk. William enlisted at Norwich on 4 January 1915, Royal Field Artillery, Driver 73734. He was posted overseas, leaving Southampton on 22 August 1915, arriving in Le Havre the following day. From 17 to 31 October 1918 he was on leave in the U.K. He finally left France on 24 March 1919. He was transferred to the Class “Z” Army Reserve on 27 April 1919, and discharged on 31 March 1920. He died on 14 May 1979 in Kenninghall. He had his estate probated on 18 June 1979 in Ipswich, Suffolk - “ANDERSON, William Robert Charles of Dam Green Kenninghall Norfolk died 14 May 1979 Probate Ipswich 19 June. £24977. 791102016H.”
